In Mother's Arms

By Cindy Lynn Ray, age 12

 Every now and then

When I知 feeling kind of down

And don稚 really want to smile

All I want to do is frown

I go to Mom and ask her if

She値l take me in her arms

Where all my hurts and pains will leave

And I値l be safe from harm.

But now I知 quite grown up

And others took my place

On Mommy痴 gentle lap

Looking into her tender, loving face

I kind of feel alone until

I kneel down by my bed

Close my eyes and fold my arms

And then I bow my head:

I say so softly "Father"

"Please take me in thy arms

"Where all my hurts and pains will leave

"And I値l be safe from harm."

And then I feel a comfort,

Someone hugging me

Answering so softly:

"My daughter, I知 with thee."
